LIVE AUCTION: 1:00 PM

Support your industry by bidding on a wide variety of auction items, ranging from equipment and supplies to vacation packages, computers, TVs, and more! These auctions are a major funding source for Concrete Industry Management programs at five public universities. Learn more at www.concretedegree.com

The Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program has developed into a key resource for populating the concrete industry with talented individuals with college degrees. Five universities strategically placed across the country offer four-year degrees in CIM.

Today, there are more than 1,000 graduates of the program and another 500 students currently enrolled. This program is made possible, in large part, by the combined efforts of the national and local concrete industry. The National Steering Committee (NSC) for CIM, in collaboration with local patron groups at all five universities, provides both funding and oversight for the program.

The generosity of our industry partners is the cornerstone of the auction's success.

Bob Weatherton Award Scholarship

World of Concrete cordially invites you to the prestigious 2027 Weatherton Paper Competition, a platform that not only showcases our industry's future leaders but also celebrates the transformative impact of the Concrete Industry Management degree program on their lives.

The competition features students from the CIM programs at California State University – Chico, Middle Tennessee State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, South Dakota State University, and Texas State University.

Each presentation will reflect the presenter's experiences in research activities, internships, or capstone coursework and how lessons learned have influenced their upcoming career in the concrete industry.

Following the presentations, you'll have an opportunity to network with these inspiring students, their faculty, and the members of the CIM National Steering Committee, fostering connections and potential new hires.

The event is open to all registered World of Concrete attendees & exhibitors.

Presentations Highlight CIM Goals
Attendees will also learn more about the Concrete Industry Management program, a four-year Bachelor of Science degree that offers a business-focused curriculum. This program not only fast-tracks students into their initial career opportunities within the concrete industry but also equips them with the skills and knowledge to make a significant impact. With more than 412 students currently pursuing degrees in CIM and more than 1,640 graduates, the program's transformative impact is undeniable and is poised to continue propelling the industry forward, one leader at a time.

Honoring an Industry Legend
World of Concrete established this award to honor the late 'Big Bob' Weatherton, a true industry legend. Weatherton, who passed away in 2016, was a key figure in the founding of World of Concrete and was named an industry legend in 2015. His revolutionary development of the articulating boom arm for concrete pumps transformed the concrete pumping industry. Weatherton's contributions continue to serve as a guiding light for all CIM students, inspiring them to make a significant impact in the industry and to always strive for excellence.

The Face® Companies’ 2026 Golden Trowel® Awards

Be There When the Industry Recognizes the Best Concrete Floors in the World.

The Face® Companies’ 2026 Golden Trowel® Awards will be presented on January 20, 2027, at the World of Concrete in Las Vegas. The Face Companies have given the Golden Trowel for more than 35 years to contractors who produce the world’s flattest and most level floors. The Golden Trowel® is a 24-karat gold-plated Marshalltown finishing trowel, mounted on a polished granite block over a walnut base.

Golden Trowel Gold Plates are awarded to the winner in each category. The award categories include how the floor was initially struck off, the floor casting’s width, whether shake-on hardener or steel fibers were used, and other factors that influence flatness and levelness.

Golden Trowel Silver Plates recognize truly outstanding entries that achieved exceptional results but did not dominate the category.

The event will also feature a brief description of each winning project.

The award event is open to all World of Concrete attendees. Registration is not required.

For more information, contact Jeff Rogers, Director of Engineering, The Face® Companies, by phone at 757.624.2121 or by email at info@faceco.com.
