Drive, Listen, Learn

Many of us are taking longer than normal trips these days. Windshield time can be a great opportunity to learn what’s happening in our industry. I’d like to suggest two podcasts that have been providing insights.

Concrete Credentials is hosted by Gregg Lewis, the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s Executive Vice President of Promotion Strategy and Communications. Gregg has been interviewing a wide range of experts who understand the many benefits of using concrete. Whether it’s concrete’s strength, durability and resilience; its aesthetic quality; its unrivaled sustainability and performance benefits; its ease of use; or cost-effectiveness.

Recent guests have included Aris Papadopoulos of Resilience Action Fund, Jamie Gentoso of LafargeHolcim, Mark Ginsberg of Curtis + Ginsberg Architects LLP, and Ryan Bedford of Bedford Development.

Concrete Credentials releases a new episode every two weeks on Thursday.

Another informative podcast, supported by the Portland Cement Association, is Hard Facts. This podcast examines the best way to pay for the nation’s transportation infrastructure. Listeners learn about money-saving tools available to planners and builders and the case for using them through interviews with members of Congress, the Administration, and industry leaders. In it’s first season, they posted 41 episodes that provided great insights on the cement and concrete industry’s overall future.

To hear these important conversations, you can subscribe to both podcasts on the normal sites including Apple Podcasts. You can also subscribe to Concrete Credentials by clicking here.
