Product: PrimeComposite by Primekss  EDITORS' CHOICE WINNER
Booth: S12253
Jointless  Floors

Description: The PrimeComposite concrete flooring system allows contractors to place jointless floors with superior quality and reduction in thickness of often more than 50 per cent if compared to traditional concrete floors. PrimeComposite is made using very large amounts of special steel fibers in a non-shrinking concrete matrix under superior quality management system, using special equipment. It uses a technology that forever binds the ingredients’ molecules together.

Superior quality means that owners know their floors will be produced without unseemly and eventually deteriorating cracks. Jointless floors with unlimited bay sizes result in more efficient and durable industrial and logistics buildings.  Joints in concrete floors act like are like potholes. They slow down forklift traffic and cause damage to driver and equipment, and need constant repair. In some cases, PrimeComposite floors can be designed to be thinner than conventional slabs. This innovation can provide LEED points, as the reduction in thickness means decreased use of cement and thus reducing embedded carbon dioxide.

PrimeComposite is a new product in North America. But contractors have successfully constructed floors companies such as IKEA, John Deere, and ProLogis in Europe and the Middle East.

Keene Building Products

Product: Quiet Qurl MT by Keene Building Products
Booth: C6284
A Noise Control Mat for Floors

Description: Quiet Qurl MT is a noise control insulation mat designed to limit impact noise between floors on commercial structures. Keene’s “Muffling Technology” is available on any Quiet Qurl product. The mat is a point-bonded, moisture-resistant fabric that is laminated to the floor. Underlayments, such as gypsum concrete and other like materials, are placed on top of the Quiet Qurl MT to create a floating floor that minimizes sound transmissions.  The mat’s core is produced from an extruded polymer matrix of tangled polypropylene monofilaments, which are heat-welded at the junctions to form a resilient structure. The core absorbs noise when sandwiched in a mass-spring-mass building design.

On the bottom side of the MT version, a highly compressible polyester fabric is bonded. This muffling fabric almost completely compresses after it’s topped with a 1.25” thick concrete floor underlayment. The compressed polyester fabric adds only five hundredths of an inch to the overall assembly.

The system has excellent performance as it reduces sound transfer in both low and high frequencies. Common uses are in multi-family, condo, and apartment construction.

Product: Stable Flow Non-Collapsing Flowable Fill by Cellular Concrete Technologies    WINNER
Booth: N1256
Deeper Pours Without Concern of Settlement or Shrinkage

Description: Stable Flow is a flowable fill that allows contractors to perform deeper pours in less time without worry of settlement. Using Stable Flow, contractors can reduce placement costs significantly while increased production rates.

Stable Flow is a mixture of water, cement, and Cellular Concrete Technologies Stable Air product, an engineered air bubble system. Mix designs are customizable and can be created to maximize flowability and formulated for faster set times. For example, tests have proven that Stable Flow is non-collapsible in lifts up to 10 ft. and above, and requires no additional fill to achieve final grade after curing. The material does not settle, and does not experience non-plastic shrinkage.

Design engineers appreciate the product’s self-supporting nature. The product minimizes vector forces on retaining walls.

Common practices limit most conventional flowable fill products to daily pours of between 2-3 feet. Stable Flow enables contractors to pour in a single lift at more than 4 feet deep in a single day.

The product achieves a 20-30 pcf density with a 28-day strength compressive strength range of 100-130 psi – qualifying the material as a permeable, excavatable flowable fill. The mix can be formulated as fully, semi or non-water permeable.

Product: KTI Flake Ice Plant by Liebherr Concrete Technology Co   EXPERTS' CHOICE WINNER
Booth: N237
Energy Efficient Concrete Cooling

Description: The KTI Flake Ice Plant offers producers an economical and efficient method of cooling concrete mixes. While new to North America, flake ice production plants have been used around the world on many projects requiring large volumes of cooled concrete.

Flake ice is produced as small flat particles.  The optimum flake thickness is between a 1/16th and a 1/32nd. This particle thickness allows high production rates of flake in the ice plant production, and shortens mixing and melting times during concrete batching.

The ice plant produces flake ice particles by spraying water onto a refrigerated drum. The surface is extremely cold, so the water freezes immediately. After being cooled to about  20°F, the ice piece is sheared from the drum’s surface and falls into a refrigerated storage unit. located below the plant.

KTI ice plants pay closes attention to this storage process. The plant’s storage bins have a designed double- wall insulation which allows a proper air-circulation around the ice, even when the ice storage is completely full. Each ice storage unit is equipped with an air-cooling unit, thus the flake ice remains crispy and avoids problems during transportation by screw conveyors or a blowing system.

Flake ice flows like fine aggregate particles. In most circumstances, flake ices are transported from storage the mixer using a screw conveying system for short distances. For longer distances, transporting flake ice is through blowing equipment.
KTI can offer cooling plants offer both cold water and flake ice production. Combined plants offer an operational advantage by using one common evaporative condenser. Due to their increased efficiency, combined plants can lower the operations power consumption for concrete cooling.  Annual power savings of up to 30% can be achieved.

By incorporating the Model 300 into their batching procedures, producers can predictably add, entrain and maintain air content in their fresh concrete in virtually all typical weather conditions and for most mix designs. The system ensures a higher quality product in regards to air entrainment on every batch with minimal added expense.

Producers can easily add the Model 300 to their existing plant. The unit is self-contained and requires only a small area. The Model 300 comes with its own set of controls that producers can easily connect to plant’s control system. The batch plant operator operates the Model 300 with an automatic control that can be easily installed at his work station. The Model 300’s control system includes a mix design calculator that helps the operator determine the amount of foaming agent needed for each batch.

The machine produces a durable foaming agent that is added during the batching sequence. The foaming agent has a design life about 3 ½ hours. The foam maintains design air content in fresh concrete during mixing, transporting, pumping and finishing.

A key benefit in using the foaming system is that air loss during pumping is very minimal. Tests have shown that even with pumping, the final concrete contains 100 % accurate of designed air content at each pour.

The machine and foaming agent is technologically advanced and are protected by multiple patents and patents pending, The model 300 can be used by all segments of the concrete production industry, including precast, pre-stressed and ready-mixed.

Product: Techcrete by Maxon Industries
  EDITORS' CHOICE WINNER
Booth: O30030
Mobile Mixing Concrete by Weight

Description: Techcrete is the first truck-mounted concrete mixer that produces concrete continuously by weight, not volume. The on-board control system uses load cells to efficient batch concrete. Techcrete producers report improved mix quality, reduced operating costs, and greater job site productivity. Techcrete has can produce a wide range of concrete mixes at rates ranging from 1 to 60 cubic yard per hour.

The Techcrete meters sand, aggregate and cement by weight from the hopper into the mixing zone. The load cell automatically detects any variance and adjusts constantly, ensuring quality concrete. The Techcrete is not a volumetric mixer, thus the printed delivery ticket displays the actual weight of all ingredients. The unit is very flexible and simple to use. The producer can preload the on-board batch controls with an infinite number of mix designs. When producing concrete, the operator chooses the recipe and pushes “start”. The Techcrete controller automatically adjusts feed rates of mix ingredients increasing productivity and reducing operator error.

The Techcrete controller tracks material usage by weight for improved inventory control and costing on each batch.  With this precise material delivery system, producers can better monitor the mix’s water-cement ratio and the mix’s final performance strengths. In many cases, these tight controls enables the operator to fine-tune cement usage rates to achieve a desired mix’s target compressive strength, with savings reported to being up to 10%.  The mixer is solidly built, but weight sensitive. For example, the unit is equipped with a proprietary hydraulic system requires only a 2.0 gallon hydraulic reservoir. Surface Retard Allows Reproducible Etch Depths

Description: Super Cast is a breakthrough technology in concrete surface retarders. Contractors can use Super Cast to select the proper etching depth for their projects. Contractors can use the product with confidence knowing the etch depth will be consistently repeated on each application.

Super Cast is offered in several etch depths five different formulas ranging from Acid Etch depth to ½ in. stone size. Other etch depths can be custom formulated. Each different formula is uniquely coded by number and the retarder itself is color coded to eliminate any possible confusion between different retarder options.

Once concrete is poured and bleed water is gone, the finisher spray-applies the selected Super Cast retarder on concrete. Super Cast forms a film over the concrete surface. The product does not require covering with poly sheeting, even in the rain. The finisher returns the next and washes the surface with pressure washer. The finished surface will show the exposed aggregate to the chosen depth.

Super Cast is contractor friendly. On jobs that require a pre-job panel or test pour to achieve an architectural standard, Super Cast’s color coded retarder allows easier reproducibility. Contractors save money and waste by not using poly sheeting. The threat that rain and wind can mess up a concrete retarder job is no longer an issue. Quality in workmanship consistency is easier to attain as the depth of etch is pre-determined by choosing the color coded retarder.  Super Cast is water-based so its easier to ship.

Product: Spectra Precision UL633 in Trench by Trimble Construction Tools
Booth: C4655
Universal Laser

Description: Spectra Precision’s UL633 Universal Laser combines many lasers functions into one unit. The unit provides grade in three axes allows contractors to control a multitude of applications – single grade, dual grade, horizontal, vertical, pipe laying and 90 degree layout - with one tool instead of multiple tools.

For common field work, the laser can provide a 25% grade range in the X and Y axes for single and dual slope work.

The UL633 is the first laser in which the plumb beam can be changed into a rotating fan beam. Using the SpotFinder, a new field accessory, the UL633 can automatically align the beam for pipe laying applications. Using the UL633 and SpotFinder, users can conduct exterior 90° layout applications on concrete pads, as well as other interior layout applications.

Jobsites where high precision work is required, concrete screeding for example, can be accomplished with assured accuracy using the automatic Dual Axis PlaneLok feature which locks the laser reference plane to existing elevation points, and maintains the beam on these points. This eliminates all drift or possibility of error caused by vibrations or other environmental factors.

The HL750 receiver is included with the universal laser. The receiver features a digital readout of elevation that provides a numeric display of ± 2 inches (±5 cm). The readout shows exactly how far the elevation is from on-grade so accurate measurements can be made without moving the rod clamp, saving time and increasing productivity.

Product: Wallscanner D-tect 150 by Bosch Power Tools & Accessories   WINNER
Booth: 030204
Handheld Penetrating Radar Scanner

Description: Wallscanner D-tect 150 uses Bosch’s patented ultra-wide band radar technology to accurately detect material depth, center line and relative width of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, non-metal objects and live A/C wiring located in walls and floors.  This technology allows contractors to detect rebar in up to 6-in. of cured concrete.

The D-tect150 wall/floor scanner has seven different detection modes: concrete, deep concrete, wet concrete, in-floor heating, drywall, metal and signal view.

The illuminated backlit LCD displays the detection depth, material type and the center and edges of an object, helping users mark the relative width of the targeted object. Its signal view mode helps distinguish different material through the height of the curve. In ruler view mode, the D-tect150 can also act as a tape measure by displaying the distance from the start of scanning while still being able to detect objects.

The D-tect150 is also easy and convenient to use. It requires no calibration. It features an ergonomic handle, single button toggle operation, and a four-wheel design, It has an adjustable sound indicator and a LED light that has three detection modes – green (no object detected in sensor area), red (object detected in sensor area) and red flashing (live wire detected in the sensor area).

Dam It Dams   Product: Water Filled Cofferdams by Dam it Dams    EDITORS' CHOICE WINNER
Booth: C5998
Reusable Cofferdams

Description: DamitDams portable cofferdams are made of a heavy-duty, geotextile woven polypropylene outer casing that contains two side-by-side inner tubes. The inner dual tubes act as a stabilizer to keep the Dam from rolling due to outside water pressure and other forces.

Since the cofferdam needs to be 25% higher (above board) than the depth of the water to be controlled, DamitDams come in eight different heights, ranging from 1 foot to 12 feet.

Installation is easy, Onsite water is pumped into the two fill tubes causing the DamitDam chambers to slowly and evenly inflate, forming a strong, stable cylindrical tube. As the inner tubes continue to fill and the water pressure builds, the DamitDam un-rolls in a controlled manner creating the cofferdam.
Contractors will find the layout easy. Units can be molds perfectly to the lakebed, riverbed or waterbed. Or using the extension coupling system, individual dams are easily linked together creating a watertight chained barrier.
DamitDam‘s cofferdam provide contractors an environmental and effective way to manage water with little or no impact on the environment. And the units are reusable.

Bosch   Product: Bulldog Xtreme Max Rotary Hammer by Bosch Power Tools & Accessories    WINNER
Booth: 030204
Ergonomic Powerful  Rotary Hammer

Description: With the introduction of the RH228VC Bulldog Xtreme Max Rotary Hammer, Bosch Power Tools continues to bring innovation to rotary hammers. Whether frequently drilling large-diameter holes, using core bits or doing all-day chiseling, the RH228VC is the perfect choice for the contractor who needs maximum performance in extreme applications.

The RH228VC offers variable speed operation (0-1,230 RPM under load) and three operating modes (hammer, drill and hammer/drill). The unique Vario-Lock™ SDS-plus® chuck allows chisels to rotate to the optimum working angle.

Bosch’s RH228VC tops its class in all meaningful measures. The hammer delivers 40 percent more speed, 20 percent more power (2.4 ft lbs) and up to 30 percent less vibration (12 m/s2) than most of the other hammers in the class. Able to drill holes up to 1-1/8” in diameter, the hammer also beats the competition when it comes to concrete drilling capacity.

Bosch engineers achieved these dramatic enhancements by re-thinking the most important components inside the rotary hammer. A longer piston and impact bolt, combined with a precision-machined striker, increases the hammer’s efficiency, which, in turn, greatly increases both speed and power.

The longer piston reveals additional benefits when users consider vibration control. By creating a longer air cushion between the piston and the striker, Bosch greatly reduced vibration caused by the striker’s backstroke. Bosch then employed internal counter-balance technology to further offset vibration. The new piston design and the counter-balance mechanism are both firsts in the RH228VC’s size category.

Keene Building Products   Product:  CAV-AIR-ATOR by Keene Building Products     EXPERTS' CHOICE WINNER
Booth: C6284
Full-Wall Drainage and Ventilation Mat/Flexible Wall Drainage Mat

Description: The CAV-AIR-ATOR is a full-wall drainage and ventilation mat for single wythe veneer masonry walls. Walls with this design need the air space free of mortar and other debris to properly drain and ventilate. If moisture builds up and the wall is unable to dry, problems such as cracking, deterioration, and efflorescence may occur.

The CAV-AIR-ATOR protects against these moisture issues maintaining an unobstructed air space for drainage and ventilation. The mat fills the air-gap between a brick and veneer and the back-up wall. During construction, the mat prevents mortar drippings from falling in the cavity, clinging to wall ties, or blocking weep holes.
By design, CAV-AIR-ATOR’s is extremely light and flexible. Masons can easily position in the tight air space and rest it on top of the brick ties.
