Scaffold & Access Industry Association Safety Boot Camp contestants will have an opportunity to perform a visual inspection of various types of scaffolding. These inspections will simulate actual job site conditions that could be encountered on masonry construction jobsites. The contestants will be given an opportunity to meet with a scaffold safety professional to ask preliminary questions about the type of equipment they will inspect.

The work site will feature a number of scaffolding systems, set up prior to the show. There will be up to six static scaffolding displays in the approved area. SAIA staff will “set-up” common mistakes that are routinely seen on jobsites and cited by OSHA inspectors. A mentor will then review the checklist/report throughout the walk-through at the various stations. During the review, the mentor will escort the contestant through the site to explain what the violation is and to help provide a way to solve the error.
