What’s New at World of Concrete 2014, Allen Engineering
World of Concrete is the only yearly, international event just for commercial concrete and construction industries – and with this year marking its 40th year, there’s a lot to talk about! This year WOC 2014 will be held at the LVCC (Las Vegas Convention Center) between Jan. 21-24, with seminars starting a day earlier on the 20th.
Thousands Look Forward to it Each Year
WOC has morphed into a huge networking, training and demonstration event. This year there’ll be over 100 training and educational seminars, 1,000 top suppliers and more than 50,000 registered concrete and masonry professionals attending this year.
WOC is such an important event for everyone in the commercial concrete and masonry construction industries because it’s a one-stop shop for training, suppliers, new products and of course networking… but the highlight of this year’s show won’t be the Decorative Concrete workshops or OSHA’s 10-hour safety boot camp, but Allen Engineering’s new offerings.
Celebrating 50 Years in Concrete
While concrete can last for centuries, most commercial concrete businesses simply don’t. Allen Engineering has grown from its humble beginnings in 1964 as Allen-Hardin Redi-Mix in Piggott, AR to an undeniable leader in the concrete industry.
But with 50 years in business comes brand new offerings and innovations, especially the new MSP450, MSP470, and the HDX610 riding trowels, as well as the LS175 Laser Striker.
The MSP450 is a brand new addition to the Mechanical Super Pro line, a riding trowel with a few upgrades worth mentioning! Its (patent pending) torque converter clutch system, high horsepower and total manual steering make this one a true high-torque machine throughout the operating range – panning to burnishing.
The MSP470 has rotor speeds up to 180rpm, a 44HP Kubota diesel engine and hydraulic power steering makes it perfect for contractors both big and small. The raised operator platform makes it a snap to drive and the intuitive joystick operation is perfect for anyone getting behind the wheel.
The HDX 610 (Hydra-Drive Extreme) riding trowel does it all. This one has a 59HP liquid cooled Kubota diesel engine, lights, electric powered spray system, hydraulic pitch controls and full hydraulic steering and drive – not to mention the 6 blade rotors with a 46” diameter that give you 100” of panning capacity that help you meet those super tough F ratings for floor flatness!
The LS175 Laser Striker, a laser guided screed, innovates and reimagines what a laser screed can do. Featuring an amazing 16 feet of boom reach and a 138” screed, you’ll be able to screed 175 sq. ft. on each pass – all while the screed is continuously guided by Topcon laser receivers. Weighing in at over 15,000 lbs, with two-wheel, four-wheel, as well as crab steering modes and a 56hp Kubota engine, it’s an impressive machine.
All of these outstanding machines will be on display at WOC 2014 at Allen Engineering’s booth (#O30628 – Silver Lot), at the Las Vegas Convention Center on January 21-24, 2014. You can also learn more about Allen Engineering by visiting AllenEng.com
