The Hoover Dam and Lake Meade Water Intake Project Tour will take place on Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The event will consist of the following:
• A stop at the Lake Meade Intake Construction site. Attendees will disembark at the construction site and receive an overview of the project from a representative of the construction company. During the 20-minute overview attendees will view the mixing plant, storage yard, and equipment supporting the tunneling activity. (Note: in case of production or weather concerns, the buses will drive to the site, and the attendees will receive the presentation at the Hoover Dam.)
• At the Hoover Dam, attendees will be conducted into an exclusive 120 seat auditorium and entry. Project team representatives will provide an overview of the project, including descriptions of the construction of the water intake structure and tunneling operations.
• Following the presentation, the group will receive a tour of the Hoover Dam.
Buses will pick up participants at the Las Vegas Convention Center at Door 9 of the Central Hall and drop them off at the same location at the event’s conclusion as directed by the tour company. The bus company will provide docents who will provide information on the Las Vegas area and Dam on the ride out the construction site and dam.
Attendees will receive bus transportation, Hoover Dam tour tickets, a WOC commemorative item, and a boxed lunch. Attendees will register and pay for the event on the World of Concrete web site.
