Hardened properties of concrete such as strength and volume stability will be the focus of this last session in a four-part series introducing basic concrete technology.  Common problems in these areas will also be addressed. The seminar concludes with a discussion of the most significant problems associated with the durability of concrete. NOTE: This series is intended to introduce the basics of good concrete practice to individuals who are new to the concrete industry.

  1. Describe the most commonly used hardened properties of concrete and how each is measured
  2. Examine the common problems associated with hardened concrete properties and the appropriate corrective measures
  3. Identify the most frequent causes of concrete durability problems
  4. Determine appropriate measures to counteract causes of lack of durability
