Staff Engineer at
Coffey Engineering & Surveying LLC
Rod Skaggs PE is currently employed by Coffey Engineering & Surveying, where he performs many roles in engineering and surveying. Rod has 39 years of experience in the surveying and engineering profession both in the field and in the classroom. He has retired from his 24 year career in teaching for the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering at the University of Wyoming where he designed, developed and directed the Outreach Surveying Program. The UW Outreach Program was designed to offer surveying classes throughout North America to practicing surveyors who were experienced in surveying processes and needed to obtain education credits to qualify for a professional license in surveying, or continuing education units (CEU’s) to maintain their license. Rod has always been intrigued with the sources of errors and expected accuracies in common surveying procedures and is surprised at how many users of surveying equipment simply assume everything is measuring properly. Over the years, Rod has taught surveying to over 4,000 students.
